Along with her friend, AF Morgan, AF Creampuff (pictured above with her first daughter, "Galadriel") was bought from our good friend, Bud Griffith, - owner of Alpaca Farms in Pennsylvania. Bud was the first alpaca breeder on the East Coast and knows practically all there is to know about alpacas. He is also a charming, honest person.
Creampuff is the daughter of Phydeau a white sire born in the U.S. and PPeruvian Rafaela, a medium fawn from Peru. She is now owned by our good friends, Susan and Larry Burkins of Apple Valley Alpacas in Pennsylvania.
Creampuff gave us a pretty, light fawn daughter, "Galadriel" out of our sire, Campion. Galadriel (she was given the same name as our female cria who died,) or -"Glad" as we called her -did well for herself in the showring. Yes, those ARE her ribbons. I am not up to the task of photographing alpacas with scary, shiney ribbons flapping on them so I just photograph their show ribbons and then photoshop them on the alpaca.
She has a lovely disposition as evidenced by her patience in being shown in the children's obstacle class at the Great Frederick Fair below:
Glad was sold to our friends, Sue & Judy at Wildwood Alpacas in Virginia. She has given birth to two pretty boys for Sue and Judy. Here is a funny photo of Glad with her first son, Bruno who would not respect her privacy while Glad entertained a "gentleman caller." Bruno was also the son of our own, Valentino. I wish I could take credit for this adorable photo but it was taken by Sue Hammer at the aforementioned, Wildwood Alpacas.
Here is a photo (also courtesy of Sue Hammer) of Glad with her 2007 cria who, I believe, is the result of the breeding shown above. What a cutie!
