Alpaca Herdsire Nickleby
Nickleby's sire was National Show Blue Ribbon winner Royal Peruvian Challenger who sold in Sept. 2005 for $30,500 at auction! and Nickleby's dam is Lanark's Primrose.
Nicholas Nickleby is owned by Wishful Thinking Farm in
Dameron, MD. This farm operates in conjunction with Dameron Alpacas and you can visit Dameron Alpacas' Website for more information on breeding to this excellent male.
Mount Airy Nicholas Nickleby was born on 6/14/2002. He is a Tonka Truck of a guy who had the heaviest bone I've ever seen on a cria, a gorgeous color and very good density. Hit bite is perfect and so is his conformation. The judge who awarded his latest blue ribbon remarked on Nickleby's good bone and deep chest.
He is proven and his first offspring was a beautiful rose gray female! She has already sold for $10,000 at 6 months of age! See photo of Apple Valley Alpacas' "Thumbelina" below:

Nickle's 2nd cria just born - a 20 lb. black female out of a white dam.

Straight bone & good proportion - 3 days old.

In addition to halter, Nickleby won Versatility champion (combined scores of halter, obstacle, PR and showmanship) for us at Frederick's AOBA show in 2004; so this guy is a gentleman with good star quality in the show ring. See Nickle (with a little red dust added to fleece) in costume class at the ABC Show below:
