Hand Spun & Knit Alpaca Hat
This hat was handspun from the fleece of Beowulf (black, gelding alpaca in photo below) and some leftover white yarn from Creampuff. I made it for a friend. Can't remember where I originally found the snowflake pattern that I used - It's been on my computer practically forever.
I started out with 64 stiches, increased to 72 to make the pattern work out (pattern is repeat of 12) and then decreased back down to make the crown. I'm normally not big on fat-looking pom poms on hats, but I liked the way this one kind of echoed the snowflake look.
